Personal reaction:
I feel that this chapter was structured well, though I didn't find it as interesting as other chapters in the book. Although this chapter was in some ways not as interesting, I still found it to be informative: in particular avoiding generalizations, using examples to clarify, persuade and to evoke thoughts or emotions from the reader.

Professional reaction:
Chapter 8 is well organised and takes the student step by step through the entire process of writing an exemplification essay. The chapter is clear and concise, with appropriate examples to help the student better understand why, when and how different exemplifications are used. The use of essays as examples helps support and reinforce the purpose of this chapter.
